Our opinion: ⭐ Clearly misleading marketing.
That's too bad. But obviously, that's the marketing game.
Here is a little analysis of these gummies:
- maltitol (as the first ingredient)
- pectin
- Natural Flavor
- citric acid
- lutein
- Vitamin E
- radish concentrate
- safflower
- beta-carotene
- copper citrate
There you go. Basically, you have gum with sweetener and .... That's almost it.
The merchant sells his gums as self-tanning and tan preparers.
The only thing that could give color to the skin without exposure to the sun, because that's the definition of self-tanner, is large doses of beta-carotene.
One of two things, if the product worked without sun exposure, it would need a dose of beta carotene at least doubled (we can go up to 30 mg per day of beta carotene and here we are at 2.5 mg for two gummies) and there would have to be no lutein in the formula.
This is because both lutein and beta carotene are carotenoids and there is competition between carotenoids for intestinal absorption, as they will be metabolized in the intestine. Unlike beta-carotene, lutein does not affect skin color.
You get the idea: not only is there not enough beta-carotene in gummies (we consider that we start to have a tanned effect beyond 5 mg per day) but it is also in competition with another carotenoids that are... does not serve to color the skin (on the other hand, excellent for the health of the eyes!)
The copper contained in the formula will surely not hurt you, but here too, it is too small to act on the health of your skin.
I'm used to using Sun collagen Shot , to prepare for tanning and I shouldn't have changed: indeed, in it there is biotin, twice as much beta-carotene, vitamin C which increases the assimilation of beta-carotene, zinc and selenium and obviously, collagen for the beauty of the skin.
Here, the gummies to give a small colored effect thanks to the beta carotene, should be taken in larger quantities over a period of at least six to eight weeks, without sun exposure. But given the price and the composition, the low dosages, I prefer to go back to my usual product, safe and effective and which also takes care of my skin.
In short, I do not recommend this product with false promises, which in the end contains quite few active elements and above all, in quantities that cannot allow a self-tanning effect.
